All models reach +150 °C, optionally +180 °C. SH adds 30 to 95%rh humidity control.
What it is used for
The SH·SU chambers bring standards-based environmental testing to a benchtop footprint:
- Temperature and humidity testing — environmental testing of components and small assemblies to IEC 60068 and similar methods
- Benchtop QA and reliability work — temperature and humidity testing where floor space is limited
- Low-temperature soak — cold testing down to −60 °C on the −262 and −662 models
- Humidity testing (SH) — steady-state and cycling humidity up to 95%rh
- Integrated test stands — designed for integration with other test equipment into a complete stand
Key features
Benchtop, space-saving footprint. Small enough to sit on or under a bench, with a premium design suited to offices and small labs. The series won an iF Design Award in 2016.
Removable humidity water tank (SH). Avoids water hook-ups — the tank runs up to a week at 85 °C / 85%rh and refills without interrupting the test. A direct water connection is optional.
Easy power and installation. The −222 and −242 models run on standard 115 V, and the series is designed to integrate into a complete test stand.
Quiet operation. As low as 42 dB, with per-model noise levels in the Specifications tab.
Standard fittings. One adjustable stainless-steel shelf, a φ50 mm cable port on the right side, and temperature (and humidity) output terminals.
P-200 touch-screen controller
Touch-screen operation with three savable constant-mode setpoints and eight cycling programs of up to 99 steps each.
Trend-graph display of setpoints and actual values.
PC and USB. Programs can be written on a PC and uploaded via USB, operation data logged to USB, and edited or exported with Pattern Manager Lite software.
Ethernet web control. Web Manager allows remote monitoring and control from a browser.
Refrigeration and refrigerant
Single-stage refrigeration is used on the SH/SU-222 and -242; cascade refrigeration is used on the -262, -642, and -662. The standard refrigerant is R-404A, with R-508A (R-23 for 100 V types) added on the cascade models. Low-GWP R-449A is available on request, except on the -242 models, reducing refrigerant GWP from 3920 to 1397.
Why engineers pick it
Full test capability in a benchtop size. −60 °C and 95%rh performance with ±0.3 °C control in a chamber that fits on a bench.
No facility water needed (SH). The removable tank runs up to a week at 85 °C / 85%rh, so a humidity chamber can be installed anywhere.
Modern controller and connectivity. The P-200 touch screen, USB program transfer, and Ethernet web control fit both automated and remote workflows.
Lower-GWP option. R-449A cuts refrigerant GWP by roughly 64% against R-404A and is available on request.
Standards-based performance. Rated per IEC 60068-3-5 (temperature) and IEC 60068-3-6 (humidity), with CE marking (220/230 V) and RoHS compliance.
Choosing a model and ordering
Choose SH for humidity plus temperature or SU for temperature only; the 22.5 L body for small specimens or the 64 L body for larger loads; and the −20, −40, or −60 °C low end by requirement. Note that the 115 V supply option is offered on the −222 and −242 models only — the −262 shares the 22.5 L body but runs on 100, 200, 220, or 230 V. Options include the expanded +180 °C high-temperature range, a viewing window with LED light, a hand-in port, continuous water supply, and floor stands.
Full per-model specifications are in the Specifications tab. Select your model and options on this page. For the expanded temperature range, integration into a test stand, or help matching a specific IEC 60068 test, contact W5 Engineering and we will configure and quote it with you.
