What it is
The EA-PSI 9000 DT is a microprocessor-controlled programmable desktop DC power supply for the bench. Its flexible autoranging output holds full rated power across a wide voltage and current range, and a built-in additional output filter gives notably low ripple. Front-panel output terminals, a color touch display, and a carrying handle with tilt stand make it a lab, school, or workshop instrument, with power ratings from 320 W to 1500 W spanning 0–40 V to 0–750 V and 0–4 A to 0–60 A.

What it is used for
Some of the use cases for the PSI 9000 DT include:
- Bench supply for lab, school, or workshop — a wide autoranging voltage/current envelope from a compact desktop unit with front output terminals
- Automated and remote-controlled test — analog and digital (USB, Ethernet) interfaces with SCPI and ModBus RTU, plus Windows control software and LabVIEW-ready remote control
- Function-generated and sequenced testing — the integrated function generator applies sine, triangle, rectangle, trapezoid, ramp, and arbitrary waveforms, with up to 99 sequences saved to and loaded from a USB stick
- Applications needing supervision and safe shutdown — built-in OVP/OCP/OPP/OT supervision reduces external monitoring hardware, and 200 V and higher models discharge the output below 60 V DC after switch-off
Source and control
Autoranging output with low ripple. The flexible autoranging output stage provides a higher voltage at lower current, or a higher current at lower voltage, always limited to the adjustable power set value or the rated power, so one unit covers a wide range of applications. Compared with other supply series, an additional built-in output filter achieves much lower ripple and low noise on the DC output. Voltage, current, and power adjust continuously from 0% to 100%, manually or under analog or digital remote control.
Regulation and resistance simulation. All models regulate in constant-voltage, constant-current, and constant-power modes and add internal resistance simulation and regulation (CR), set from the rotary knobs, a numeric pad, or the analog interface, which accepts U, I, P, and R control signals at 0–5 V or 0–10 V.
Function generator. Every model includes a true function generator that applies sine, triangle, rectangle, trapezoid, ramp, and arbitrary waveforms to the output voltage or current, with full parameter control (Y offset, time/frequency, amplitude). The arbitrary base generator builds complex function sets in up to 99 sequences for development and production testing, saved to and loaded from a standard USB stick via the front USB port.
Handling and protection. A color TFT touch panel with two rotary knobs, a pushbutton, and two LEDs shows all set and actual values; the screen language is selectable (English, Russian, Chinese, German) and controls can be locked against accidental operation. Adjustable OVP, OCP, and OPP thresholds shut the output off and raise a status signal when reached, an overtemperature protection guards against overheating, and 200 V and higher models include a discharge circuit that sinks the output below 60 V DC after switch-off.
Interfaces and software
Digital interfaces are galvanically isolated: a USB type B port for communication, a front USB type A port for storage, and an Ethernet port. A built-in isolated 15-pole D-Sub analog interface sets and monitors U, I, P, and R at 0–5 V or 0–10 V with status inputs and outputs. Control uses SCPI and ModBus RTU, and the included Windows software provides a clear set/actual interface, direct SCPI/ModBus entry, firmware update, and semi-automatic table control (Sequencing); the optional Multi Control app monitors and controls up to 20 units in one window with sequencing and data logging.
Why engineers pick it
Bench-ready with low noise. A compact desktop enclosure with front terminals, a carrying handle, and tilt stand, plus an additional output filter for notably low ripple, suits sensitive bench work.
One unit covers a wide envelope. Autoranging holds full rated power across a broad voltage and current range rather than at one fixed operating point.
Test intelligence built in. A true function generator with up to 99 USB-stored sequences and internal resistance simulation put much of the test routine inside the instrument.
Less external supervision. Built-in OVP/OCP/OPP/OT supervision on all output parameters reduces the need for separate monitoring hardware and software.
Configuring and ordering
The series resolves along power class and model.
- Power class sets the rating — 320 W, 640 W, 1000 W, or 1500 W.
- Model sets the voltage-and-current envelope, from 0–40 V / 0–20 A through 0–200 V / 0–4 A at 320 W, up to 0–40 V / 0–60 A through 0–750 V / 0–6 A at 1500 W. Each model carries its own ordering number.
